Dick was born June 5, 1923, in Linwood, Nebraska to Adam L. and Fianna(Balmer) Lockner. He graduated from Linwood High School and served in the United States Army from 1943-1946 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He later worked in Idaho as a lumberjack and was a caretaker of a mining operation. Upon returning to Nebraska, he worked for Wagner Feedlots in Edholm and finally drove a gravel truck for Woods Brothers in Schuyler. Dick loved to spend time with his friends for coffee at John's Tire Service in Schuyler.
He is survived by two nieces, Regina(William) Roberts of Burley, Washington, Toby(Don) Facer of Colville, Utah, and many friends in the Schuyler area. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
