Death Removes Robert Hill of Cedar Township
Mt. Auburn, March 24 - The death of Robert Hill, 68 years old, a retired Cedar township farmer, occurred at 4:00 p.m. Friday at his home here. He had been in ill health two years from heart trouble and complications. Funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Methodist church. Interment in the Mt. Auburn cemtery.
Robert Hill was born Nov. 25, 1859, in Perry county, Pennsylvania. He came to Iowa when a young man. His marriage to Miss Carolyn Struve of this community took place Dec. 14, 1891, in Vinton. Mrs. Hill died Feb. 28, 1912. Since her death the daughter, Miss Elsie, has kept house for her father. For more than thirty-five years the family home was on a farm northwest of this place. Mr. Hill and daughter retired from the farm about ten years ago.
Surviving are the three children, namely: James Hill, farmer living near Mt. Auburn, Miss Elsie Hill, who is a saleswoman in the Farmers Mercantile store here, and Mrs. Emma Loveless living south of La Porte City. Deceased was a member of the M.W.A. lodge.
