From the Eveleth News-Clarion (published 12/14/1944):
"Mrs. Anton Anzich, nee Rose Zlimen of this city, received a telegram on December 1st from the war department informing her of the death of her husband, Pvt. Anton, who was killed in Germany on November 15th. Pvt. Anzich entered service on June 13, 1942, and went overseas in December, 1943. He landed in France on D-Day and saw action in Belgium, France, and Germany. He was with the AAA (AW) Bn. of the American First Army. He was born in Ely on April 9, 1914."
According to the Eveleth News-Clarion (published 10/30/1947), his remains had initially been interred in the Henri Chapelle temporary military cemetery in Belgium, and was one of the first wave of World War II servicemen returned from overseas for final burial.
