a longtime South Side of Chicago physician.

A resident of Palos Hills, Dr Esau, 83, had been in private practice and on the staff of Roseland Community Hospital. He had been a fellow of the American College of Abdominal Surgeons since 1960.

Dr Esau, a 1925 graduate of Tabor College in Kansas, received his M.D. from Rush Medical Center of the University of Chicago in 1931.

He is survived by his wife, Corrine; three sons, Joel Franklin, John and Frederic; a daughter Babara Callan and a brother.

Funeral services will be at noon today at Mt Greenwood Lutheran Church, 10911 S Trumbull. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, 11500 S Federal.

I suspect he was born near Inman kansas but dont know for sure. Ike his younger brother was. The parents came to USA from Russia in the 1870s.
