Ola was the eldest child and daughter of Alfred Hiram McKim and Cora Ellen Fullerton. She married Benjamin Stewart on Oct. 6, 1914 in Bolivar, Polk Co., MO. The two families were neighbors. To this union four children were born; Jewell, Lloyd, Robert (d. in infancy), and Deryal (d. in infancy). Ola remained close with her parents and lived near them her entire life. She helped them with the day to day chores of farm life. Her sudden death hit the McKims hard and her parents never really did get over her death, as is evident from letters written by her mother over the years. Ola died from food poisoning and is buried with her sons Robert and Deryal.
