Leonia P. Jones, 89, of Dayton, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at the Crockett Care Center in Crockett. Graveside services will be held at 1 Pm, Friday, June 20, 2003 at the Greenville Cemetery in Kenefick with Rev. Wayne Hardin officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 Am to Noon, Friday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Leonia was born May 16, 1914 in Rocky Hill, to parents; Jesse and Minnie Jones, a resident of Dayton for 51 years and has resided in the Crockett area for the past three years. She was a graduate of the Rocky Hill High School, attended Angelina Co. College and obtained her teacher's certificate, homemaker, member of the First Baptist Church, and enjoyed flower gardening and reading. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Albert A. Jones, sons: Larry w. Jones, Jessie B. Jones, and Willie Don Jones, Daughter-in-law: Minga Jones, and son-in-law: Joe Knight. She is survived by her daughters: Mini Worley of Dayton, sue Knight of Crockett, and Dee Canon and husband Eugene of Montgomery, sons: George Jones and wife Linda of Dayton and Roy Jones of Cuero, 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and numerous friends.
