Ordained May 1, 1948 at St. Vibiana's Cathedral by Archbishop James Francis McIntyre.

Our beloved Father Earl G. Walker, passed away early in the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 26th, at St. Vincent's Hospital. Fr. Walker was 88 years old and lived a very full and holy life; serving the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for 62 years. We all know how much he wanted to go home and what joy is his now! [Exerpt from The Tidings] Father Walker, an alumnus of Cathedral Chapel School, served the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for 62 years as a priest, the last 38 at his boyhood parish. He had retired as pastor in 1998, but continued to serve as pastor emeritus. ***** Born in Salt Lake City, he moved with his family, at age 2, to Los Angeles and attended public schools until sixth grade, and he graduated from eighth grade at Cathedral Chapel. He and his father, a convert, were confirmed the same day in 1934 by Bishop John Cantwell. ***** He then attended the former junior seminary, Los Angeles College, for six years, and St. John's seminary in Camarillo for six years. He was among 10 priests ordained May 1, 1948 at St. Vibiana's Cathedral by Archbishop James Francis McIntyre, the first St. John's class ordained by the archbishop. ***** Father Walker served as an associate pastor at St. Elizabeth, Van Nuys; St. Matthias, Huntington Park; St. Francis of Rome, Azusa; Christ the King, Hollywood; and St. Thomas More, Alhambra. He was assigned as administrator at Transfiguration, Los Angeles from October 1970 to March 1972 when he was named pastor at Cathedral Chapel of St. Vibiana).

Vigil Service & Viewing was held on Sunday, October 31, 2010, with Rosary & Reflection of the Word; Fr. Truc Nguyen, Presiding at Cathedral Chapel Parish.

A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted on Monday, November 1, 2010, Concelebrated with Cardinal Roger Mahony, at Cathedral Chapel Parish. A reception followed at the Cathedral Chapel Parish Hall.

A Graveside Service was conducted, in the afternoon, at Calvary Cemetery, in Los Angeles; Bishop Edward W. Clark, Presiding.
