C. Norris Johnson, 84, 3711 Asbury Place, died Nov. 23, 1991, at Ralph Thorne Health Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. He was born Jan 19, 1907, in Reno County, the son of Charles C. and Ella Blaine Johnson. A life-time Reno County resident, he was a retired farmer and had served as farm superintendent at Kansas State Industrial Reformatory, Hutchinson. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson, and the Kansas Peace Officers Association. In 1927, he married Gladys Ellen Moats at Nickerson. She died in 1930. On Feb. 19, 1932, he married Buenos Ayers at Nickerson. She died Jan. 13, 1987. Survivors include: a daughter, Marie Thode, 1500 West 17th; a brother, Harold, Pratt; a sister, Zelma Engbrecht, 812 East 30th; two grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Funeral service will be a 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Revs Wayne A. Pittman and Nick Warner presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to the church or to the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers, both in care of the mortuary.
