Mrs. Anna Nooning Died Sunday Morning At Her Home Following Stroke
Mrs. Anna Nooning, 77 years old, widow of John Patrick Nooning who operated a grocery store in Baring, died at 3 o'clock Sunday morning, March 28, 1965, at her home there following a stroke last Thursday morning. She had made her home in Baring since 1928.
The body was at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral home here, where rosary services were recited Monday and Tuesday evenings until the funeral services a 10 o'clock yesterday morning at St. Aloysius Church in Baring. The Rev. Stephen Carew, pastor, officiated and burial was in the Church cemetery. Nephews were pallbearers.
Mrs. Nooning is survived by a son, Matthew Nooning, of Colona, Ill., three granddaughters; two sisters, Margaret, Mrs. Virgil Carroll, of San Bernardino, Calif., Mary, Mrs. Wesley Martin, of Pueblo, Colo., five brothers, Joseph Eagen of Kirksville, Bernard Eagen of Burlington, Iowa, James Eagen of San Bernardino, Charles Eagen of Richland, Wash., and John Eagen of La Junita, Colo., and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter of Michael and Anna Ludden Eagen, she was born March 1, 1888, at Brashear. She was married to Mr. Nooning June 30, 1914, at Adair and they farmed in Knox County for several years until moving to Baring where he had the grocery store and also dispatched mail from the post office to the depot there for several years. He died March 1, 1961, and her parents and two brothers, Timothy and William Eagen, also preceded her in death.
