Literary Critic, Educator, Historian. Hani Goro was a Japanese Marxist persuasion writer and publicist, who wrote several Marxist-influenced history books on the development of capitalism in Japan in the pre-Meiji and Meiji eras. He was also a part-time member of the Institute of Compilation of Historical Documents at the University of Tokyo, a professor at Nihon University and the Jiyu Gakuen School, and a member of the House of Councilors.
