"Finley Sheppard, 87, of Rt 1, Delbarton, on Trace Creek, died at 1:30 am today at his home following a lingering illness.
Sheppard, a farmer, is survived by seven children, 53 grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren [sic]. He was born April 23, 1870 at Myrtle, the son of the late A. J. and Julia (Runyon) Sheppard, and was married to the former Lucina Marcum [sic], who preceded him in death.
Survivors include the following children: Steve, Jake, Lonnie, Sidney, William, and Julia, all of Delbarton, and Mrs. Molly Estepp of Ragland.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 am Monday at the home with the Rev Wallace Maynard officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery on Trace Creek with Allen Funeral home in charge. The body was taken to the home today."
