Charles F. Miller

Charles F. Miller, 89, of 522 Atlantic Ave., who in 1965 became one of the founders of Jay's Markets Inc., died Wednesday evening at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margaret E. (Kleinerd) Miller.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Miller was born at Lineboro, Md., the son of the late John and Estie (Sterner) Miller.
He was secretary of Jay's Markets Inc.
A member of Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Lutheran Church for 57 Years, he also belonged to the Loyal Order of Moose, the Lincoln Fire Company, and the Senior Citizens Group of Paradise Lutheran Church.
He was originally employed by the then Fisher's Restaurant, North Penn Street, and then went to York Corp., where he worked for 25 years. Then he worked for Edgecomb Steel, where he was employed until 1965.
Mr. Miller is survived by a son, Jay E. Miller, York; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lettie Emig, York.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Larry A. McConnell.
