Sarah Kate Wilson was the daughter of Willie Wilson and Harriet Walker. I do not know if her father died or if her parents were never married. She is listed on the 1870 census as Katie Patrick although her mother did not marry William Green Patrick until 1872. She was listed on every census after as Patrick until she married. Her death certificate did list her father as Willie Wilson, however.
Kate was the second wife of Jeremiah "Jerry" Pierce. They married somewhere around 1900. They had two sons Jerry Jr, and Roosevelt(Tobe). Her husband Jerry died in 1923, and was buried in Pine Crest Cemetery.
The 1930 census showed her living with her son Jerry and his wife Mamie in Citronelle. She died in 1951, and I do not know how long she had lived with them but my Grandma Mamie had told me that Granny Kate had hardening of the arteries and her mind had began to slip. She was 88 when she died.
