Rev. James Vincent Benham was the son of Rev. Isaac Babbitt and Matilda (Holmes) Shepard Benham. Mary Isabelle (Hamilton) Benham was his 1st wife. They were married January 1, 1863 and she died September 5, 1869. Emma (Baker) Benham was his 2nd wife. They were married September 21, 1870 and she died August 4. 1925. He was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Oneida Conference 1863 F 1865 To Central New York Conference at organization 1869 To East Genesee Conference at reorganization and to Genesee (now Western New York) Conference by consolidation 1876.
