Charles H. Nutter here for 41 years is death victim, Charles H. Nutter age 87, who spent more than 41 years in East St. Louis where he engaged in real estate enterprises until he suffered a paralytic stroke from a cerebral hemorrhage a month ago, died yesterday at the home of his son Ralph Nutter 5685 Waterman Ave. St. Louis MO.,he was associated in business with WM. Goodman in the Arcade building, his home until this past year and one half at 3205 Forest Blvd in this city, Mr. Nutter was born in Perry Illinois, and later took up their residence in Brighton Illinois, from thence he came to East St. Louis, in 1880. Surviving are his four sons Cecil G. Nutter a member of the board of supervisors or this County, Charles B. Nutter and Clarence L. Nutter all of this city, and Ralph Nutter of St. Louis MO., a sister Mrs. L. H. Chapin, of Long Beach California, ten grandchildren, eight of whom are in East St. Louis, including Miss Nellie Nutter a teacher in the Longfellow school and Wyndham Nutter a student in the Cincinnati Bible School is studying for the Ministry, also one great grandson, his wife Laura E. (Leigh) Nutter preceded him in death in April 1930, Christian Science Services will be held at 1 O'clock

Charles Henry Nutter was trustee of the Village of Brighton Illinois in 1885 In 1885 The Nutter's operated a Mill on Main Street in Brighton Illinois this was called Brighton City Mills, run by Harrison and Charles Nutter, the Mill burned in 1894 after which a new Mill was built by an organized Stock Company, the fire was caused by a hot in the machinery, the Nutter brothers then removed to Alton and E. St.Louis, another date of the fire was recorded as 19 December 1890
