James H. Bamber, 65, widely known in Dayton political circles and husband of a fomer Lewisburg resident, died last Thursday morning at his residence in that city following a comparatively brief illness. Although in failing health for some time, his condition did not become serious until recently.
Funeral services were held at the Dayton Masonic temple Saturday afternoon. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, Dayton.
Survivors are his widow, the former Katie Whipp Bierly of Lewisburg; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Etta Leis and Mrs. Catherine MacFarland, and one stepson, John Bierly.

Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Snyder, Mrs. Ira Ryder, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Whipp, Wm. Whipp, Mrs. Altus Studebaker, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Bierly and Mrs. E.J. Bierly, all of this community, and the latter's daughter-in-law, attended the funeral of J.H. Bamber, at the Masonic Temple in Dayton Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Bamber, the former Katie Whipp Bierly, is a cousin to practically all of the above group.
