Married 58 year, Jean Thompson Burger, 79, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday morning, June 21st, 2013.

Jean was born in Cleveland on May 31st, 1934 a daughter of the late Elmer & Mildred Thompson. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.

Jean and her late husband Richard owned and operated Burger Music for over twenty five years. After retirement she went on to work for the Cleveland Police Department for six additional years as a school crossing guard. Jean loved to work in her yard and creating various types of gardens such as Japanese, flower and water gardens. She also enjoyed working with ceramics.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Burger, one son Anthony Burger, one sister Katherine Huelett and her twin brother Dean Thompson.

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons Clinton Burger and wife Janet of Cleveland and Randy Burger and wife Linda of Athens, TN, one daughter-in-law LuAnn Burger of Nashville, TN, one sister Naomi Wright Sexton (Gilbert), one brother Homer Thompson (Dena Rae), seven grandchildren.. Lori Apple, A.J. Burger, Austin Burger, Monica Chestnut, Alan Davis, Tabitha Burger and Travis Burger, five great grandchildren Kaleb Triplett, Karson Huff, Olivia Davis, Eli Chestnut and Zeke Chestnut. She is also survived by numerous other extended family members, friends and church family.



A celebration of her life is planned for Wednesday night, June 26th, 2013 at 8:00 PM at the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church located at 2412 Georgetown Road with Joe Collins and Mayor Tom Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday night from 6:00 PM until the 8:00 PM service time. Interment and the graveside committal service will take place on Thursday, June 27th, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
