Obituary: "Old Resident Passes Away at His Home" - Mr. Olaf Ness was born in Iowa, July 8, 1967, and moved to Minnesota while a boy, moving later to South Dakota where he married Miss Christine Olson. After a few years residence they moved to Omaha, where he engaged quite extensively in farming. In the year 1910 they moved to Chester where he was engaged in farming and general labor until his death. Maintaining his home here still he spent much of his time in Kalispell. He died here at this home in Chester on September 14, 1932 at the age 65 years, 6 months and 4 days.
He was a quiet and modest disposition and was highly respected by his many friends. Funeral services were conducted at the local Methodist church by Rev. Engh of Joplin and the remains laid to rest in Chester cemetery. Floral offerings had strewed the casket with some beautiful flowers, the ceremonies and song being very appropriate to the occasion.
Olaf O. Ness married Christine (Kristi) Olson 1890( Daughter of Paul and Thea (Westly) Olson) in Lake Preston, S.D.
