Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Ralph Williams officiating. Maxey Funeral Home will make burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Askew was born Dec. 13, 1944, in the East Caney community, a son of Arva Askew Sr. and Zodia Young Askew. He made his home with Linda Lindley. He was a 1963 graduate of Douglas High School and was a building contractor. He was a member of East Caney Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Lisa, Shronda and Tonya Askew; a stepson, Jason Lindley; two brothers, Charlie Askew and Ronnie Askew; and one sister, Anna Turner.
Named as pallbearers are Sherby, Rickey and Keith Spivey, Larry Johnson, Ralph Wright and Lawrence Askew.
