Patty trained as a nurse during WWII. She came to Southern California and went to work in 1945. She met her husband William "Bill" Preach in 1946 and were soon married. They moved to Manhattan Beach in 1952 and became active in the community.
Patty is survived by her sons, Timothy (Maryann) Preach of Newburg, OR; Jeffrey (Terri) Preach of Castaic, CA; Frederick "Kelley" Preach of Manhattan Beach, CA; her niece Kathy (Orvis) Nelson of Torrance, CA; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Veronica Kelley, her husband, William L. Preach, and her sisters Margaret and twin Elizabeth.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Monday December 6, 2010 from 4 to 8pm with a Vigil at 7pm. The Service will be held at American Martyrs Catholic Church on Tuesday December 7 at 10am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
