Funeral for Shelba Jean McAdoo, 73, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Fletcher with the Rev. Rodney Campbell, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. McAdoo died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in a local hospital.

Burial will be at Fletcher Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

She was born March 4, 1937, in McKey, to Samuel Homer and Maudie Bell Fraley James. She married Milton M. McAdoo on April 9, 1955, in Fletcher. He died Sept. 26, 1992. She traveled the world as a military wife and had been employed as a medical stenographer for the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. She later owned the GMF Insurance Agency. Mrs. McAdoo's last employment was with Lawton Public School's Transportation Department. She was a member of the Great Plains Corvette Association, where she served as vice president in 1986. She also enjoyed racing her Corvette. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fletcher.

She is survived by a son, Michael McAdoo, of Lawton; two sisters: Pauline Williams, Shreveport, La.; and Della Lou and her husband, Bob Coffman, Weatherford, Texas; a brother, Chesley James, of Fletcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Othel (Kilroy) James and Clyde James; and a sister, Melba Ryans.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Fletcher, 301 W. Hornaday, Fletcher 73541.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
