CLEO E. YOUNG TAKEN BY DEATH
Local paperhanger, Know as ‘Tibbs,' Dies at Veterans Hospital.
Cleo E. (Tibb) Young, 50, well-known paperhanger and lifelong resident of Bartholomew county, died at 12:45 o'clock this morning at the Veterans administration hospital in Indianapolis. He had been ill through the summer and fall and was taken to the hospital two weeks ago.
The body was taken to the Flanigan, Reed and Hull funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, with burial at Garland Brook cemetery.
A veteran of World War I, Mr. Young as born at Clifford, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew (Putt) Young and spent all of his life in Columbus. He was nicknamed "Tibb" was he was young and was known by that to most of his friends. He followed the paperhanging trade from the time he was old enough to work, and became well known in the city.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Lula Young, he is survived by his father and a son, Elmer E. Young, who is now serving with the armed forces in Germany; four grandchildren; a brother, Orville Glenn Young of Dayton, Ohio; a step-sister, Mrs. Paul Morledge of Columbus, and a step-son, Frank H. Gibson of this city.
A daughter, Mrs. Donna Reed, and a brother preceded him in death.
