Frederick was the youngest of three children born to John M. Klein and Bernadina Von Bokern. In 1900 he wed Mary E. Kelly. Over the years he was a teamster, he worked in a flour mill and, at the time of his death, he was a foreman for the Ballard Milling Co. He died of diptheria at the age of 38.
