When Sam Harry Yianitsas was born on October 14, 1932, in Beaumont, Texas, his father, Harry, was 32 and his mother, Chrysanthie, was 23. He married Elizabeth Economides on June 14, 1959, in Charlotte, North Carolina. They had three children during their marriage. He died on October 5, 1981, in Houston, Harris Co., Texas, and was buried at Forest Park, Westheimer Cemetery, in Houston, Texas.
Sam graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont. He was the district manager for the Burroughs Wellcome Pharmaceutical company. He is survived by his wife Betty and three children Harry, Chris and Chrysanthie. His mother Chrysanthie Yianitsas and sister Jo Ann Crassas.
