Albert Lee "Bud" Saling, 96, Raytown, MO, formerly of Kingsville and Holden, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at his home. Funeral services 2 p.m., Wed., Dec. 22, Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden, MO. Interment in Holden Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Heartland Hospice in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at: www.williamsfuneralchapel.net. Albert was born Aug. 21, 1914, in Kingsville, MO, son of Grover C. and Eliza A. (Williams) Saling. He was united in marriage to Ruby P. Anders on July 14, 1937 in Warrensburg, MO. The couple made their home in Holden for several years, prior to moving to Kansas City, MO. They had resided in Raytown, MO, since 1953. Bud was a carpenter by trade and was employed with Don King Construction for many years. He was a member of Carpenter's Union #13 and also was a member of the Countryside United Methodist Church, Raytown, MO. He loved to fish and spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Ruby; a son, Robert Saling, and wife, Judy, of Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Kay Nicks, and husband, James, of Blue Springs, MO; six grandchildren: Vicki Vander Laan, and husband, Randy, of Littleton, CO; Randy West, and wife, Carrie, of Raytown, MO; Jim West, of Cameron, MO; Angela Saling, of Kansas City, MO; Stefanie Wahlen, and husband, Brian, of Raytown, MO; and Ryan Saling, and wife, Rebecca, of Lee's Summit, MO; thirteen great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Marguerite Coggins, of Eldon, MO. Bud was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Lee Saling; and two sisters, Ruby Duncan and Lovina Koci. Arr. Williams Funeral Home, Holden, MO, (816) 732-4188.
