ROBERT QUINTELA

Services for Robert Flores Quintela, 29, 108 N. Second St., are pending with West Funeral Home. He died in Santa Fe during the prison riot.

He was born and raised here and held various jobs, most recently as a ditch burner for the Carlsbad Irrigation District. He was a member of San Jose Mission.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel V. Quintela, Carlsbad; four brothers, Ricky and Rey Quintela, both of Carlsbad, Rudy Rodriquez, Hobbs and Manuel Quintela Jr., Hayward, Calif.; one sister, Terri Quintela, Carlsbad, and grandparents, Joe Florez and Mr. and Mrs. Domingo Hernandez, all of Carlsbad.

Rosary services for Robert F. Quintela, 29, 108 N. Second St., will be said today at 7 p.m. at West Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be said Saturday at 10 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. John Curran officiating. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Robert Aranda, Ernest Medrano, Larry Sanchez, Gilbert Ortega, Novie Mendoza, and Tony Sarabia.
