Colin Lee Moir, 54, of North Vernon died at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Moir owned and operated Colin Moir Contruction and had been a self-employed contractor for more than 30 years. He also was a truck driver for 10 years, a journeyman carpenter and electrician and a master leather crafter.
He was a 1968 graduate of Columbus High School and a member of AmVets Post 7, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge, all in North Vernon. He enjoyed golf, leather working, bowling, horseshoes and pool. He served in the Air Force from 1968 to 1970.
The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Revs. Tony Conley and Ray Taylor officiating. Calling is from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus with military graveside rites by North Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars, Matt Hester Post 2021.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of Jennings County or the American Cancer Society.
Born July 4, 1950, in Columbus, Mr. Moir was the son of Conrad Lee and Lois Wilds Moir. He married Patsy A. Tolson on May 30, 1998, in North Vernon.
Surviving are his wife; his father, of Elizabethtown; a son Kelly Heagle of Columbus; a daughter, Belinda Barnes of Columbus; stepsons, Daniel Tolson of Columbus and Michael Tolson of Dayton, Ohio; brothers, Kevin Moir of Florida, Terrin Moir of North Vernon and Robin Moir of Texas; a sister, Joy Doup of North Vernon and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
