Jim was a gregarious guy who loved people and had a zeal for his Christian faith. After graduating from Wausau East High School in June 1975, he and several bicycling friends embarked on a tour around Lake Superior. Along the North shore the evening of his death, he was struck by a car and died at the scene.
Missed by all who had the pleasure of being a part of his short life.
He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Rose (Cauger) McCutcheon of Wausau, WI., David John Knapp of Golden, CO., Diane Elayne Cauger, Wausau, WI and Thomas Richard Knapp, Harrisonburg, VA. Older sister Linda Jean Knapp died January 23, 2003 in West Chester, Chester, PA and his father, Robert Edward Knapp of Mead, CO., died July 21, 2012.
Robert Edward Knapp (1932 - 2012)
Linda Jean Knapp (1955 - 2003)*
James Robert Knapp (1957 - 1975)
The inscription was in his own handwriting and was typical of his fun-loving ways. "Wazoo, Wackatawacka". Wazoo pokes fun of Wausau, WI his hometown and Wacka ta wacka was from B. Kliban's cartoon cat.
