Killed when he stepped in front of a bus at Walt Disney World.

Robert Thomas Krueger, 69, of Yarmouthport, passed away Dec. 26, 2010.
He was the beloved husband of Meredith (Pollard) Krueger.

Born in Winchester, Bob was the son of Lucille (Learned) and Alton Hunt Krueger. He grew up in East Long Meadow and Dennis, and was a 1959 graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.

After graduating from Bridgewater State College in 1964, he began a long and dedicated career in education. He spent the majority of his 38-year career at Nathanal H. Wixon Middle School teaching 7th grade science. He also filled other roles there, such as 8th grade class advisor and the varsity boys' soccer coach. Prior to his retirement in 2002, Bob was assistant principal at Wixon Middle School.

In addition to teaching, Bob owned and operated his own landscaping business, R.T. Krueger Landscaping, for 40 years.

Bob was a longtime member of Saint David's Episcopal Church. He was very involved in the church community, serving as chairman of the Stewardship Committee and former vestry member, and he had been the primary organizer of the Annual Saint David's sponsored Family Carnival held each August at the John Simpkins field.

Bob enjoyed traveling. He loved to take road trips up and down the East Coast. His favorite vacations, however, were his annual trips with Meredith to Aruba and his summer vacations with his family in Wells Beach, Maine.

While Bob was proud of all that he had accomplished throughout his life, he was most proud of being "Papa" to his beloved grandchildren, Joey and Tori. They will miss him dearly.

Bob is survived by his loving daughter, Tami L. Ostrom of Marstons Mills; grandchildren, Joseph Ostrom and Victoria Ostrom; two sisters, Susan Allick and her husband Wilfred of St. Croix, and Pamela Krueger of Tiburon, Calif.; sister-in-law Anastasia Krueger of Framingham; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter Tobi Jane, his parents, and brother Alton H. Krueger Jr.

Burial at Ancient Cemetery in Yarmouthport.
