Lisles Elizabeth Berringer, 88, West LaHave, died October 16, 1995, in Halifax County Rehabilitation Centre, Cole Harbour. Born in West LaHave, she was a daughter of the late William MacMillan and Ada (Lohnes) Berringer. She was a graduate of Lunenburg Academy and Provincial Normal College, Truro. In 1952 she received her BA from Acadia University, Wolfville and the History Medal for outstanding academic achievement. In 1964, she was awarded her master of arts in history from Acadia University. She taught school in Nova Scotia for more than forty years before retiring in 1972. She was a member of West Side United Church, Pentz. Surviving are a sister, Ola Swim, Kingston; nieces, Joan Berringer, Halifax; Elizabeth Swim-Crawford, Moncton; nephews, David Berringer, Wayne Berringer, Bridgewater. She was predeceased by a sister, Muriel; brothers, Anson, William (Wibbie). Visitation 7-9 p.m. tonight in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Thursday in West Side United Church, Pentz, Rev. Mark MacLean officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations to West Side United Church Memorial Fund or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
