Services for Richard Hernandez Fierro, 26, 402 Ponder, are pending with West Funeral Home. He died at the state prison.
He was a life-long Carlsbad resident, and had been employed at various jobs, including working for the City of Carlsbad sanitation department. He was a member of San Jose Mission.
Survivors include the parents, John and Christine Minner; one son, Richard Fierro, Baldwin Park, Calif.; one daughter, Michelle Fierro, Baldwin Park, Calif.; three brothers, Tony Hernandez, Santa Fe, and Dennis Minner and John Minner, both of Carlsbad; three sisters, Dorene Hernandez, Dianna Minner and Evelyn Minner, all of Carlsbad, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Hernandez, Azuza, Calif., and Aurella Fierro, Dinuba, Calif.

Rosary services will be said today at 3 p.m. in the West Funeral Home chapel for Richard H. Fierro, 26, 402 Ponder St., who died Feb. 2. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. at San Jose Mission with the Rev. John Curran officiating.
Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Earnest Hernandez, Sammy Olguin, Joe Mendoza, Efren Gomez, Tony Hernandez and Tony Sarabia.
