All of the children attended school in Cordele. In 1911 Marigold married Bonner Brown and, on Sep 1st, 1912, her father, Lee Hampton Webb, died suddenly. Willa was suddenly a widow with six children in the home. She was devastated by the loss of her beloved husband and buried him at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia, the same cemetery that held the remains of their baby boy, Lee Webb, who had been born and died 20 years before. John served in World War I, and, upon his return home following his discharge, went to work at the local bank as a bank teller. His brother, Robert Leon (called Leon), who had also served in World War I, went to work as a salesman. By 1920, both sons and young Kate, now listed in the census as Violet, was still in school. John's mother never remarried and lived until 1943, when she also passed from this life and joined her husband in Paradise. John married Alene Kennedy, also a Georgia native, in about 1921. They had just one child, a son they named John Howard, Jr., on November 24, 1923, in Cordele, Georgia. They then moved to Orlando, Orange Co., Florida, where John was a bank clerk at the First National Bank. When the Florida Census was taken in 1935, the family was renting their home, John Sr. was an auditor at the bank and his son was in high school. By 1940 they had purchased a home at 1112 Conway Road, Orlando, Florida which was valued at $7,500 that year. John was now both an accountant and auditor at the bank and John Jr. was attending school. John Jr. registered for the draft on June 30, 1942, as a student attending college. John Jr. went on to attend medical school and become a physician, practicing in Orlando, Florida and marrying, having three (?) children. By 1946, John Howard Sr. was a Trust Auditor at the First National Bank. In the 1953 City Directory he is listed as Assistant Trust Officer at the 1st National Bank, as well as in 1954. By 1959, John Howard Webb, Sr. was no longer working as he had retired. His son and wife, Mary Martha, lived in Orlando, Florida. John Howard Webb, Sr. died on Dec 6, 1958 in Cordele, Crisp Co., Georgia. He was laid to rest at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia where his parents were interred. His wife, Alene, lived until August 10, 1987, passing from this life in Orlando, Florida. She was interred at Sunnyside Cemetery by her husband. Both Rest in Peace in Heaven.
