Mary L. "Tudy" Reed VanHooser, 58, of Brownstown, formerly of Nashville, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at Brown County Health & Living Community.
Mrs. VanHooser was employed by Snappy Tomato Pizza in Brownstown and was a former employee of the Seymour Pizza Hut. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, tending her flower garden and refinishing furniture.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Born March 23, 1947, in Brown County, Mrs. VanHooser was the daughter of Omar and Mary Griner Reed.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Ridenour of Nashville; daughters, Sherry Hampton of Brownstown and Tina Fleener Tays of Columbus; sons, Charles Reed of Freetown, Steve Reed, Lee Fleener and Steven VanHooser, all of Columbus, James Fleener of Indianapolis, Tyler VanHooser of Freetown and Chris VanHooser of Bloomington; grandchildren, Amanda Kinney, Charles A., Steve, Jamie and Nathen Reed, Justin Hampton, Jonathan Dillon, Samantha Philyaw and Kameron and Kimber Goodin; sisters, Lena George of Nashville and Helen Mathis of Lakeworth, Fla.; brothers, Dale and Steve Reed of Nashville, Charles Reed of Hope, James Reed of Morgantown and Gene Reed of Butlerville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; daughters, Lynn Ann "Dudley" Reed and Mary Kay Reed; brothers, Bruce Reed and Ed Griner; and a sister, Eleanor Ziegler.
