Robert F. "Bob" Eisenbraun was born December 30, 1933, in Creighton, South Dakota, the son of Alexander and Hertha "Hattie" (Kapfenstein) Eisenbraun.
His father died when Robert was two and a half years old and he and his brothers, sister, and mother lived in Delmont before moving to a farm-ranch east of Wanblee. He grew up and received his elementary education in the Shade Hill Rural School and then attended Kadoka High School.
As a young man he worked road construction in South Dakota and Wyoming.Robert was united in marriage to Barbara Pinney on August 16, 1958, at Kadoka, South Dakota. They made their home in Wyoming and western South Dakota where he continued to work in bridge construction for the interstate highway system.
In the fall of 1960, they moved to Wanblee where he farmed and ranched with his mother and step-father, Ernest Munger. In the fall of 1962, they moved to Kadoka when he worked at the Public Locker until 1967.
He then started work for the South Dakota Department of Transportation, where he worked until retiring in 1993.
Bob's wife Barbara preceded him in death on December 25, 2002. Bob continued to make his home in Kadoka.
Grateful for having shared his life include four sons, Robert M. Eisenbraun of Red Oak, Iowa, and his children Daphne, Brittney and Alex; Wayland Eisenbraun and his wife Billie Jo of Kadoka, and their children JoBeth and Ty; Colin Eisenbraun of Quinn and his daughter Felicia; and Neal Eisenbraun and his wife Jenny of Wisner, Nebraska, and their children Katrina, Kimber and Trentn; one daughter Athena Eisenbraun of Kadoka; 4 great-grandchildren Hunter and Hudson Johnson, Lilly Uhlir and Avery Weber; one brother Melvin Eisenbraun of Sturgis; one sister Alvina Parkinson and her husband Larry of Kadoka; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife Barbara, Bob was preceded in death by three sons in infancy, Cory, Kyle and Chad; his parents; and five brothers Lester Kapfenstein, and Art, Vernon, Hugo and Marvin Eisenbraun.
Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Thursday.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, with Father Bryan Sorensen as celebrant.
Interment was at the Kadoka Cemetery.
