Georgia E. Coop, 88, of Columbus died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Coop retired from Arvin Industries, where she worked for several years. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, loved flowers and was a former quilter.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Myers-Reed Dignity Memorial Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Brian Teater officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or the donor's choice of charities.

Born in Cave City, Ky., Aug. 26, 1918, Mrs. Coop was the daughter of Samuel and Eva Rigdon Alexander. She married Willie E. Coop on Dec. 10, 1938, in Kentucky.

Survivors include a son, Thomas R. (Mary Ann) Coop of Columbus; a daughter, Helen L. (Fred) Stadtmiller of Columbus; grandchildren, Vicki (Keith) Huff of Columbus, Amy Coop of North Vernon, Timothy, Michael and Daniel Stadtmiller of Columbus; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 11, 1968; six brothers; and three sisters.
