Eugene was born in Union County, GA on July 19, 1939 to the late Robert Holland Gibson and the late Frankie Mae Fortenberry. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy of Cleveland County, NC and a sister, Frances Cook of Blairsville, GA.
Survivors are a son, Waylon Gibson and a daughter Holly, both of Cleveland County, NC; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; a sister, Elaine Alexander and a brother Jerry Gibson of Hendersonville, TN.
Eugene was a good, gentle, Christian man who really loved the Lord. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services were held at House of Prayer Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, January 10, 2010.
