U.S. Congressman. Born the son of Congressman John William Boehne, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin, in 1918 and served as a Sergeant in the Ordnance Corps, U.S. Army, during World War I. After the war, he was secretary and treasurer of the Indiana Stove Works, (1920-31). In 1931, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-second Congress and to the next five succeeding Congresses, serving until 1943. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was a corporation tax counselor in Washington, D.C., (1943-57).
