William R. Tucker, who for many years resided at West Jefferson street, but in recent years lived at Mexico, Mo., died yesterday morning following an illness of four years. Decedent was born Feb. 14, 1867 [see d.c.], in Decatur, the son of Enoch and Susannah Tucker. For several years he traveled for the Leiber Leather company of St. Louis. After living in Springfield since he was 15 years old, he removed to Mexico, Mo., two years ago, because of a change in the territory in which he was assigned.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Hoffman Tucker; two daughters, Ellen S. Tucker and Mrs. William M. Baldwin, both of St. Louis; one son, Bryan K. Tucker, Chicago, and two brothers, Howard Tucker, Chapin, and James Tucker, Chicago.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at the Thomas C. Smith's Sons funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge cemetery.
