US Congressman. Served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Elected to represent Alabama's 8th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1900 to 1914. Also served as a Member of the Alabama State House of Representatives from 1865 to 1867, State Court Judge from 1875 to 1886, and Presidential Elector from Alabama in 1888.
