US Congressman. Served as a Colonel in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Elected to represent Alabama's 8th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1879 util his death in 1882. Also served as a Member of the Alabama State House of Representatives in 1870, and Delegate to the Alabama State Constitutional Convention in 1875.
