He was one of the developers of Port St. Lucie and was vice president of General Development Corp. He was the general manager of Florida Home Finders retail sales division and one of the founders of Port St. Lucie National Bank, now known as Seacoast National Bank.
He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II.
He was a lifelong financial supporter of the Salvation Army and was on its Port St. Lucie board of directors since 1998.
Survivors include one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theodora K. Bickford; and sons, Howard L. Bickford, Jr. & Theodore J. Bickford.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 20 Forest Hills-Byrd, Young & Prill Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie.
