GILBERT MORENO

Services are pending with West Funeral Home for Gilbert Moreno, 25, who died at the Santa Fe penitentiary.

He was born in Carlsbad and had been a construction roofer.

Survivors include the wife, Denise M., Carlsbad; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eliseo Moreno, Carlsbad; two sons, Michael and Frankie, both of Carlsbad; five brothers, David, Henry, Eliseo and Raul, all of Carlsbad, and Joseph, U.S. Army in West Germany; eight sisters, Emma Hernandez, Evelyn Moreno, Sandra Ramirez, Norma Moreno, Ida Moreno, Doris Moreno, Ruby Moreno and Linda Moreno, all of Carlsbad; grandmother, Anita O. Moreno, Carlsbad, and great-grandmother, Genoveva Ortiz, Carlsbad.

Rosary services will be said today at 7 p.m. in the West Funeral Home chapel for Gilbert O. Moreno, 25, 904 Ortega St., who died Feb. 3. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at San Jose Mission with the Rev. John Curran officiating.

Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David O. Moreno, Henry O. Moreno, Cpl. Joey O. Moreno, Eliseo O. Moreno Jr., Raul O. Moreno and Sammy Olguin Jr. Honorary pall bearers will be Joseph O. Moreno, Armando Hernandez, Morris Ramirez and Deacon Antonio Moreno. All friends are to consider themselves honorary pallbearers.
