Edwina was born in Orange, Texas on September 11, 1917, to Novaline Anna Bettis Holland and Edgar A. Holland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dawson Winter, Jr. who expired in January 2001 and her brother George E. Holland, who expired in March 2009.
Edwina is survived by her sons, John D. Winter III and his wife, Susan and Edgar Holland Winter and his wife, Monique.
She was a member of Calder Baptist Church, the National Society of Colonial Dames, The Magnolia Garden Club, The Garden Club of America, the Tyrrell Historical Library Association and The Junior League of Beaumont. Edwina was noted for her flower arranging and judging and was the recipient of numerous awards. She was always willing to share her vast knowledge of plants and flowers with others.
