He was born July 4, 1942, at Linn Creek, Mo., the son of Joseph Leonard and Mary A Leffert Percival. He grew up in Linn Creek and attended the Linn Creek schools.
He joined the Navy where he served in the Gulf of Mexico during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was an operator for the Farmland Industries agricultural plant at Lawrence for 20 years.
He married Colleen Vandruff, Feb 1, 1963. at Leavenworth. They lived in Eudora for 25 years before moving to the Burlingame community three years ago. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Daniel Percival and Douglas Percival, both of Burlingame; seven grandchildren; a brother; and four sisters.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dean Percival, who died Feb 25, 1986.
A memorial service was Friday, Sept 29, at the Burlingame Federated Church.
