A homemaker, she was born in Ashland and came to Brevard County from Ashland in 1990.
Katherine attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Palm Bay and St. Edward's in Ashland. She was a past volunteer at Ashland Samaritan Hospital and an active member of the Lakes of Melbourne Community. She enjoyed golfing, dancing, gardening, swimming and spending time caring for her family and many friends. She lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Carol (Bart) Michelson of Easton, Md., and Casey (Bill) Cseplo of Dublin and Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Jason and Rachel Michelson and Billy (Jennifer) Cseplo; great-grandchildren, Kailyn Michelson and Jack and Reid Cseplo; and a brother, Richard Bonfiglio and a sister, Marjorie Walker, both of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lt. Col. Mervin E. Sheriff; and brothers, Joseph and John Bonfiglio.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Ashland.
Interment will be beside her husband, Lt. Col. Mervin E. Sheriff, in Arlington National Cemetery.
