---Alma Jae Armstrong, 84, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, and formerly of LaPlata, Missouri, passed away Monday morning (July 26, 1999), at Carlsbad Medical Center, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
---Born on June 18, 1915, in Elmer, Missouri, she was the daughter of Ollie Byron "Happy" and Sylvia (Arment) Davison. She was united in marriage to Paul Henry Montgomery, who preceded her in death in January 1951, and later married C.B. Armstrong, who preceded her in death in November 1993.
---She was also preceded in death by her parents.
---Alma Jae is survived by two children, Delora J. Bridwell of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Ronald Eugene Montgomery of Carlsbad, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
---Having been born and raised in Macon County, Missouri, she grew up on a farm outside of Elmer, Missouri. After her marriage to Paul Henry Montgomery they moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico. She moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, in the early 1970's and then back to Carlsbad after the death of her husband, C. B. Armstrong, and became a resident at Landsun Homes, Inc. She was a past member of O.E.S. in LaPlata. She was a member of the Christian Church and had worked as a bookkeeper for Jay's Firestone at Greene and Canal Streets in Carlsbad.
---Graveside services will be held Thursday (July 29, 1999), at 10:00 a.m. at the Elmer Cemetery, Elmer, Missouri, with the Reverend Bob Welsh officiating.
---Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday (July 29, 1999), at Elliott Funeral Home in Atlanta, Missouri.
