Hannah (Smith) Eaton's parents were Mary Yarnall and James Smith, married 1811. Her maternal grandparents were Lydia (Ashtone) Yarnall and George Yarnall. George's father and grandfather were Amos and Francis Yarnall, respectively. Francis emigrated to the colony of Pennsylvania aboard the Bristol Comfort and arrived at Upland, October 1st, 1683. The Yarnalls were Quaker, gentlemen landowners. They are known for developing Chester County and the State of Pennsylvania, including Francis's notable son-in-lawlaw, Timothy Matlack as a co-author of the Pennsylvania State Constitution, Delegate to the Continental Congress, and scribe of the Declaration of Independence.
