Aaron was reared and educated in Greeley. He assisted his father in the building of ditches and in the cultivation and improvement of the farm. Later he turned his attention to general merchandising in Eaton, Weld Co., CO where he entered into partnership with his step-mothers brother James Hill. At the end of 2 years he purchased James interest and continued in business until Apr 1895, then he sold out.

On account of his health in 1904 he moved his family to Los Angeles, CA. He returned to his business interests in Eaton, Weld Co., CO, but would return to CA as often as possible to be with his family.

They had 7 children, 4 survived by 1900

John Benjamin died 2 1/2yrs, Edith died in infancy, Ernest W. twin, Ethel twin died at 1yrs, Ralph James, Elizabeth Emily, Harrison [Harry].
