Lucy was the daughter of Thomas and Martha Jefferson. She lived only five months.

According to her sister's Wikipedia biography page the family was living in Richmond at the time of her birth and death. Richmond became the capital on April 18, 1780. The family escaped to Poplar Forest in May 1781.
