Mrs. Martha Alvina Rusch, daughter of Mr. A. G. Baumgarten and his wife Katherine nee Licht, was born in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, on the 22nd day of November, 1888. She lost her mother when only six years of age. Her parents later moved to Loganville where she attended confirmation classes and was confirmed. On May 2, 1911, she was joined in holy wedlock to Mr. Edward Rusch, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. F. Schalkhauser in St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Loganville. After their marriage they lived on a farm south of Reedsburg for eight years. In the year 1919 they came to live in Reedsburg and this has been their home for the last 26 years. Deceased became ill two years ago. Her illness turned out to be a strange malady and the best medical aid was sought. Last fall there seemed to be some improvement in her condition and she was again able to attend our services. However, she has not left her home since Christmas. She breathed her last on April 3 having reached the age of 56 years, 4 months and 11 days. She is survived by her husband, her parents, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were conducted on April 6.
